There are several ways that you can help advance the important work of our faculty, students and trainees including the following:
- Endowed Chairs
Endowed chairs play a critical role in providing talented faculty flexible resources to initiate novel research ideas so they can be developed and ultimately funded by traditional research grants. This generous gift ensures that the Department of Neurobiology at UCLA remains a worldwide leader in pioneering work on the brain.
- State-of-the-Art Equipment
Advanced equipment is essential to further the work of students and faculty.
- Pilot Projects
Small awards allow scientists to test and validate unproven, revolutionary ideas in order to attract major funding.
- Sawyer Fund for student Travel Awards
The Department continues to honor the legacy of Dr. Charles H. Sawyer by presenting “Sawyer Travel Awards” to selected graduate students and Postdoctoral Fellows. Donations allow trainees to attend scientific conferences, where they will hear and disseminate new information that may lead to new discoveries.
