The Department of Neurobiology welcomes Emily Wu, Ph.D. as New Faculty
The Department of Neurobiology welcomes Ye “Emly” Wu, Ph.D. as a new faculty Assistant Professor of Neurobiology effective July 1, 2024. Her Ph.D. (2013) was in Biology from Stanford University, working in the laboratory of Prof. Kang Shen. Her current research focuses on applying and developing single-cell RNA sequencing methods and circuit manipulation for the molecular and functional dissection of neural circuitry underlying animal behaviors. She received her B.S. in Biology from Peking University, China. She then earned her Ph.D. from Stanford University, where her graduate research focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms governing synapse formation and axonal transport in neurons. Afterwards, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Daniel Geschwind’s lab at UCLA where she investigated the neural mechanisms of autism spectrum disorders through functional genomic and animal behavioral studies. Since 2016, Dr. Wu has held academic appointments in the David Geffen School of Medicine, most recently as an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Neurology. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Wu to our Department.
